- Record daily financial transactions like invoices and payments using Xero or similar software.
- Assist with payroll processing for all entities, ensuring compliance with tax and superannuation rules.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms.
- Keep ledgers up to date and track expenses for projects.
- Create, verify, and process supplier invoices and payments.
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid invoices.
- Set up efficient payment methods like direct debit or credit card.
- Help apply the right revenue recognition rules for each business unit.
- Keep detailed records of revenue transactions for audits.
- Prepare financial reports such as profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
- Assist with budgeting, track actual expenses, and report on differences.
- Support creation of consolidated financial reports for the group.
- Ensure financial records meet Australian Accounting Standards and are ready for audit.
- Maintain compliance documents for GST, PAYG, and superannuation.
- Coordinate with external advisors to follow tax and transfer pricing policies.
- Use tools like Xero to streamline finance tasks and connect with group systems.
- Help implement scalable finance processes to support growth and potential acquisitions.
- Keep digital and physical records organized for easy access.
- Work with executives and external providers to provide accurate financial data.
- Support junior finance staff or contractors as needed.
- Coordinate with teams across our client and subsidiaries to ensure accurate tracking of expenses.
- Education: Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in media, entertainment, or project-based environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Xero or similar tools; experience with payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. Familiarity with payment platforms is a bonus.
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, PAYG, and superannuation.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in record-keeping and transaction processing.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment with a willingness to learn new systems.
- Teamwork: A collaborative mindset and ability to support different teams.
