- Design & Development: Remotely design mechanical/structural systems for overhead cranes, hoists, trolleys, and bridge structures, ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards.
- Engineering Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed CAD drawings, design calculations, and specifications. Ensure timely updates to documentation as projects evolve.
- Remote Collaboration: Communicate effectively with local Australian design, manufacturing, and project teams using digital platforms (Teams, Zoom, etc.) to integrate designs and resolve technical queries.
- Structural Analysis: Perform finite element analysis (FEA), stress, and fatigue assessments using appropriate software.
- Safety & Standards: Ensure all remote work meets applicable safety codes and industry standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve product performance, reduce costs, and enhance engineering processes while working independently offshore.
- Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in the crane industry, especially with overhead crane and hoist systems.
- Deep understanding of mechanical/structural design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while coordinating with Australian counterparts.
- Software Proficiency: AutoCAD 2D (for drafting and layout work), Autodesk Inventor (for 3D design and assembly modelling) and Space Gass (for structural analysis and modelling).
