- Coordinate project staffing and execution between local teams and remote product & engineering peers, leads and stakeholders. Ensures that engineering development for the groups under management is consistently aligned to business priorities and that staffing is optimised accordingly.
- Hire & train new personnel to meet the needs of the teams under management. Collaborate with local and remote leaders on staffing needs. Ensure we meet hiring plan objectives and that we hire and train the right personnel to perform the work needed.
- Problem solve & work on higher-level design (operational or architectural) to ensure the effectiveness of the products under management. Ensure the organisation is operating as efficiently as possible.
- Software development fundamentals: Foundation for evaluating good design and development practices
- Written and oral communication: Interact with peers, team members, and remote stakeholders/managers effectively
- Analytical problem solving: Decompose complex problems and operational events
- Patience and ability to teach/mentor others. Train and mentor new hires, new ATLs.
- Experience developing and deploying production software to effectively mentor others on the process for developing and ensuring high-quality solutions
- Strong organisational and context-switching ability. Effectively handle multiple projects, with different agendas and projects moving forward simultaneously
- Team building and the ability to motivate others. Encourage a positive, constructive, and collaborative work environment and retain top talent
- Technical project management skills or good exposure to project and operations management best practices.
- Facilitation and strategic planning skills beyond following Scrum ceremonies.
