ABOUT THE ROLE... A leading provider in railway design, construction, and maintenance, is seeking an experienced and skilled Accounts Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, including payroll management, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and more. Expertise in MYOB Advanced is essential for this role, and experience in the construction industry is highly preferable. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management & Superannuation Process end-to-end payroll for all staff members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and Australian regulations. Manage superannuation contributions and ensure timely submissions in line with legislative requirements. Accounts Payable Assistance Assist with accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, approvals, and timely payments to vendors. Reconcile supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure smooth operations. Accounts Receivable Assistance Assist with accounts receivable process, including the issuance of invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts. Ensure all client accounts are accurately reconciled and up to date. ABOUT YOU Key Requirements: Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accounts officer/Payroll admin, with a strong emphasis on working within MYOB AccountRight or MYOB Acumatica . Construction Industry Experience : Prior experience in the construction sector is highly preferable but not essential. Reconciliation Skills : Proven experience in general ledger and account reconciliation is essential. Tax & Compliance Knowledge : Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, payroll tax and superannuation. Attention to Detail : Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in bookkeeping and financial reporting. Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external vendors. Qualifications: Certificate in Payroll, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and legislation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information. Preferred Attributes: Prior experience in the construction or infrastructure industry is highly advantageous. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
