- Collect geotechnical data to investigate and characterize rock mass conditions and manage databases.
- Interpret all available data (from logging, mapping, testing, and LiDAR scans) and develop geotechnical models
- Identification of expected geotechnical hazards and appropriate controls
- Geotechnical inspections of damage and deformation in surface and underground.
- Collect and record monitoring data as per established monitoring protocols and procedures
- Develop designs, calculations, and analysis for backfill (paste fill and cemented rock fill).
- Validate and manage database for backfill
- Support project teams by organizing meetings, documenting discussions, and tracking action items.

- Degree in Mining/Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Geology
- 1-2 years of experience in the mining industry as a geotechnical engineer
- Driver's License
- Licensed Mining/Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Geology
- Geotechnical engineering fundamentals, rock mechanics, and structural geology.
- Risk management
- Project management
- Mining safety standards
- Troubleshooting
- Root cause analysis
- Strong time management skills and engineering aptitude
- Effective Communications Skills
- Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Deswik/Surpac, Rocscience software)
- Ability to use logic and intuition to make decisions or solve problems.
