- Review all geotechnical data to ensure databases are frequently updated and relevant.
- Develop and update the site-specific empirical models through the reconciliation of underground excavations
- Analyze available and/or new geotechnical information and endorse geotechnical designs and plans optimization
- Establish and maintain geotechnical monitoring programs for key areas of interest such as advanced monitoring systems, remote sensing technologies and geophysical surveys, to improve geotechnical monitoring capabilities
- Develop and update the site-specific empirical models and parameters through reconciliation of pastefill and cemented rock fill
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets

- Degree in Mining/Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Geology
- 5 years of experience in the mining industry as a geotechnical engineer
- Licensed Mining/Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Geology
- Masters in Geomechanics
- Driver’s License
- Geotechnical engineering fundamentals, rock mechanics and structural geology
- Risk management
- Project management
- Mining safety standards
- Troubleshooting
- Root cause analysis
- Leadership and management
- Strong time management skills and engineering aptitude
- Effective Communications Skills
- Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Deswik/Surpac, Rocscience software)
