Position: Data Engineer/Automation Lead Department: Data Analytics Reporting Line: Data Director Overview We are looking for a Data Engineer to join us in exploring ways for Propel Manila to deliver data products and services that support strategic communications; creativity and innovation; and data- driven decision making for brands. The goal is to optimize the Agency's data pipelines and processes, consistent with DataOps best practices, in order to improve efficiencies; ensure the creation of organizational knowledge; and provide continuous value to internal and external stakeholders. Our Data & Analytics practice is growing, and we would love to discuss opportunities to collaborate if you recognize in yourself the following qualities: Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment where your primary collaborators will be communications professionals and not engineers. Good working knowledge of data analysis and business intelligence products and how they rely on data feeds for their implementation. Broad knowledge of data science products and current developments in the field Strong programming skills, especially in Python, for the creation of automation and other process improvements to help the Data & Analytics team deliver our reports and growing suite of productized services. Broad knowledge of DataOps principles and the importance of speed, accuracy, and rapid validated learning cycles to optimize long-term performance. A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers and loves sharing knowledge with more junior team members. A curious world class problem solver who wants to keep learning! Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role; agile product development and experience working in cross-functional teams would be a plus. Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences, including senior stakeholders. Knowledge in natural language processing; network analysis; and/or graph theory and the possible applications of these technologies to strategic communications would be a big advantage! Working knowledge of SQL and graph databases would be nice. Experience in or knowledge of the communications industry would also be helpful.
