- Lead and guide Yara Philippines Country Manager and staff in all HESQ & Product Stewardship matters and Management Systems, including implementation of Yara's HESQ Policy and Procedures, and any applicable Technical Operating Standards (TOPS).
- Lead development and implementation of a local HESQ roadmap through a systematic framework focused on delivering Yara's ambition of zero harm and a culture of Safe By Choice.
- Build and maintain HESQ competency across all Yara Philippines employees, ensuring compliance to both Yara and local requirements. This includes collaboration with local HR / People Organization to identify and map learning needs across all domains including HESQ topics.
- Embed HESQ leadership activities (e.g. safety walks or inspections) across all aspects of Yara Philippines operations, from factory to field, for both Yara employees and our business partners.
- Champion HESQ communications; ensuring effective cascading of HESQ guidance, engagement in HESQ activities and availability of platforms for workforce feedback.
- Ensures all management system documentation is stored and managed within the Yara Management System (YMS) in compliance with local regulations and Yara standards.
- Implement and monitor compliance to applicable internal and external HESQ rules or regulations, including Yara's ISO Accreditation (9001, 14001, 45001) and IFA Protect & Sustain Certification requirements. This includes supporting Yara's Business Partners in the implementation of Yara's HESQ and Product Stewardship requirements across the supply chain (e.g. 3rd party warehouses).
- Lead internal or external HESQ audits, including self-assessments. Support with Supplier Compliance, E&C and Human Rights related audits also.
- Be local owner of Yara's HESQ case management system, Synergi. This includes regularly case reviews to ensure adequate information quality; thereby effectively utilizing data in Synergi as learnings to drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with local operations and supply chain to ensure sound business knowledge and the ability to identify and support initiatives to improve both productivity and safety, ultimately contributing to improved business performance.
- Lead the implementation of improvements projects as required (e.g., engineering improvements, digital initiatives, process improvements, etc.).
- Maintain local risk assessments and emergency response plan and ensure relevant scenarios are exercised and awareness provided to colleagues.
- Assure compliance to the HESQ business plan objectives and defined activities through regular Management Review and feedback across Yara Philippines management and staff.
- Collaborate with HESQ Director Africa & Asia and Central teams on regional HESQ improvement programs.
- Minimum - Tertiary level qualification in science, engineering or a related discipline.
- Local - Any mandatory HESQ qualifications / certifications according to local legal requirements.
- Desirable qualifications - Incident Investigation, Lead Auditor Certification, Risk Management, Certified Training and Assessor, Project Management, LEAN methodology.
- Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a similar or senior HESQ, Operations or Quality Management role; preferably within the chemical manufacturing or resources sector.
- Strong understanding of local workplace HESQ rules and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of ISO Accreditation Standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and IFA Protect and Sustain Certification.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing and or fertilizer industry.
- Strong computer proficiency in respect to the use of MS suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Experience with Synergi or other HSE management systems.
- Experience with document control processes, preferable in platforms like SharePoint.
- Power BI and Project Management experience a definite edge.
