- CMDB & Asset Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date records of all hardware assets in ServiceNOW CMDB. Ensure alignment between discovered assets, manually entered items, and operationally active equipment.
- Data Reconciliation & Cleanup: Work with Infrastructure, End User Support, and Service Desk teams to identify, investigate, and correct inaccuracies, duplicates, or missing asset data.
- Lifecycle & Warranty Tracking: Monitor hardware assets against warranty and lifecycle thresholds. Identify assets due for refresh or nearing the end of support and create visibility through reporting.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Build and maintain monthly/quarterly reports on hardware health, age, refresh status, warranty coverage, and compliance metrics. Provide insights into leadership to support strategic planning.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to asset intake, tracking, reassignment, and retirement workflows. Support automation and data validation efforts within ServiceNOW.
- Audit & Compliance Support: Assist with internal and external audits related to hardware inventory. Ensure processes support traceability, ownership, and disposition tracking.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration between IT teams and vendors to validate records, update entries, and communicate changes related to physical and virtual assets.
- Hardware Refresh Planning: Provide data to support regional and global hardware refresh programs, including aging reports, recommended timelines, and asset categorization (e.g., end-user devices, servers, peripherals).
- Knowledge Documentation: Maintain internal documentation on hardware asset policies, CMDB practices, and standard operating procedures.
- 3+ years of experience in IT asset management, CMDB maintenance, or IT operations with a focus on hardware tracking and lifecycle planning.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNOW and a strong understanding of CMDB tables, asset records, discovery tools, and reporting functions.
- Familiarity with IT hardware lifecycle concepts, including warranty coverage, refresh cycles, and end-of-life (EOL) tracking.
- Strong attention to detail and data quality with a methodical approach to investigation and problem resolution.
- Ability to build and interpret reports using tools like ServiceNOW Performance Analytics, Excel, or Power BI.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or ITAM policy development.
- Familiarity with integrations between CMDB and discovery tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF, etc.).
