Job Description:We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate estimates, conduct takeoffs, and support tender submissions. The role involves collaborating with offshore teams, coordinating with suppliers, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and assisting in cost planning and value engineering. You will work closely with the Construction Manager and project team to ensure timely, accurate, and well-documented estimates.
  • Prepare accurate structural estimates for tenders and live projects.
  • Conduct structural takeoffs using Bluebeam to support pricing and cost assessments.
  • Collaborate with offshore resources to produce and verify BOQs efficiently.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of competitive tenders.
  • Support the Construction Manager with cost planning and value engineering initiatives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternatives during the tendering process.
  • Provide input on constructability and materials to enhance project efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager, cadet estimator, and new team members to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders and suppliers for updated pricing and material information.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate estimating records and databases for future reference.
  • Ensure BOQs and takeoffs are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
  • Maintain clear version control and documentation of all estimate revisions.
  • Provide regular updates to the Construction Manager on tender status and resource requirements.
  • Other role specific duties as they arise.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in a structural or general estimating role within the construction industry.
  • Must have proven experience using Bluebeam for structural takeoffs and estimating.
  • Strong understanding of structural elements and construction methodology.
  • Ability to prepare detailed cost estimates and review BOQs for accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; exposure to other estimating or construction software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a growing, small team environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tenders and tight deadlines.
