What are you waiting for This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge, predominantly intellectual in character, which routinely involves exercising discretion and judgment. Advanced knowledge in material control and management has been gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field. Basic Job Requirements Under supervision of the Lead Control Systems Engineer, the Control Systems Material Controller coordinates all the material related activities for the Control Systems task force team. This includes the following requirements, . Provide an intermediate understanding of the development of project estimates and project baselines, including the development of man-power forecasts, estimates, and schedules for material control. . Demonstrate in-depth understanding of material control contingencies, logistics and analysis. . Report the status of material control to the Lead Engineer. . Monitor and control budgets/schedules, including man-hours, costs, and progress. . Understands project execution including Change Management and how it affects the changes in material quantities. . Provide input to logistics plans and related procedures with procurement, construction, project controls, and project to ensure the timely delivery of materials to the job site. . Schedules, directs, and verifies the accuracy of material takeoff and initiates Requests for Quote for materials. Provide input to the technical bid tabulations to select material Suppliers. Follows through by working with the Procurement Department and Responsible Engineer to issue a purchase order. . Represent Material Control at meetings with clients, suppliers, licensors, and other disciplines concerning matters relating to material control and produce documentation required for conference or meeting notes . Development of set-up procedures, guidelines and or policies for the control systems material management group, including the development of coordination related procedures with other design disciplines, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls and Project Management. . Coordination of site / fabrication yard contractor material control queries. . Development and input to the project 'Spares' philosophy. . Assumes responsibility for the identification of material requirements and preparation of detail material take-offs from drawings, where standards, methods, practices, and instructions are not clearly defined or are in the developmental stage using Fluor's MatMan tool. . Verification of Bill of Quantity (BOQ's) from Design documentation for input into RFQ's/PO's. . Verification of Bill of Materials (BOM's) from Design documentation for input into the various installation contracts. . Managing interfaces with the Fluor Unison suite of tools including the Quantifier and MatMan Interfaces with other Fluor tools / programs to assist the procurement / contracts / estimating departments. . Possess in-depth knowledge of material control estimating, planning, scheduling, as well as forecasting, budget, and deviation control and reporting. . Assist in the completion of the Engineering Project Completion Report CONTROL SYSTEMS MATERIAL CONTROL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: . Assist in development and issue of Instrument Line Class Spec (Z-Spec) . Build Line Class Specs from Global Matman database based on Instrument Line Class Spec . Standard Installation Details - Detailed understanding of assemblies/installation details and the material that is derived from them. . Standard Installation Details - Assist in the selection of Global and Project Specific Installation Details . Standard Installation Details - Build Global Installation Details from Global Matman Database . Standard Installation Details - Build Global Composite Details from Global Matman Database . Standard Installation Details - Assist in the development Project Specific Installation Details . Material Control Plan - Develop the Material Control Plan . Material Control Plan - Issue the Material Control Plan IFE, IFD, IFC . Material Control Tasks - Perform Material Take-off Analysis from Drawings . Material Control Tasks - Perform SPI-Matman Interface - work with project Control Systems DAS to set up the SPI-Matman interface and support project teams in material related queries. . Material Control Task Preferred Qualifications . Technical Diploma . Job related technical knowledge, necessary to complete the role and responsibilities above. . Knowledge and experience of Material Management and associated procedures and practices. . Procurements and Contracts input experience . Analytical Skills and data manipulation . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills . Able to use Microsoft Office software packages. . Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
