Rate: $1400 + $36 Monthly Stipend Nautical Staffing is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and disaster recovery. This role involves maintaining systems and supporting US-based clients during Pacific Time Zone hours. The position primarily focuses on system management with some customer support responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: System Design and Implementation: Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud infrastructure systems that meet business requirements. Configure server hardware, virtualization setups, networks, and system integration using Microsoft SCVMM and Hyper-V technologies Architecte, configure, and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services to meet business and technical requirements. Ensure systems are optimized for high performance, availability, and disaster recovery. Infrastructure Management: Deploy and manage virtualized environments, including configuring hypervisors, storage, and network resources. Perform administration and management of on-premise cloud infrastructure (Hyper-V and XenServer) as well as public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure). Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to optimize resource usage. Manage backup and disaster recovery infrastructure using tools such as Veeam and Zerto. Implement best practices for backups and disaster recovery to protect data and ensure business continuity. Customer Support: Provide remote support for US-based customers, particularly for company-managed databases and systems. Work closely with clients to troubleshoot technical issues and deliver professional services as needed for sales-driven or deployment projects. Technology Evaluation and Collaboration: Participate in evaluating and implementing new technologies, systems, and processes to improve the infrastructure. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Qualifications: Must Have: 5+ years of experience as a Linux or Windows Systems Engineer/Administrator. 4+ years of experience managing cloud systems using SCVMM and Hyper-V technologies. 3+ years of experience with Azure cloud administration A Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field is a plus. Willing to work full-time during US Business hours (PST). Familiarity with storage technologies such as iSCSI, NFS, and handling large-scale data migrations. Preferred: Knowledge of networking, firewall policies, DNS, and Active Directory/LDAP administration. Experience with AWS cloud administration Experience with Citrix VDI for virtual desktop environments is good to have.
