Duties And Responsibilities Assists in planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance and repair work of buildings, grounds, and utilities systems. These would include plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical work, refrigeration, air conditioning, and gardening. Sketches plans, reads and interprets blueprints and manufacturer's specifications, and requisitions equipment and materials for equipment installations and repairs. Assigns maintenance crews to specific jobs and spot checks work to ensure that workmanship meets standards and that safety and building regulations are complied with. Is responsible for controlling job costs for budgetary purposes and maintains pertinent records. May be responsible for personnel matters pertaining to the employment, training, termination, and grievances of maintenance workers. Coordinates such matters with the Human Resources Department.
