The Structural Engineer is responsible for executing the specific tasks assigned to meet project deliverables and for preparing structural design requirements for a range of projects. Main Responsibilities include: Comply with all role-specific Safety, Health, Environment, & Quality (SHEQ) obligations Comply with the WSP OH&S System and development of site-specific health and safety plans as well as WSP Quality System and Code of Ethics. Represent WSP to a professional standard at all times. Undertakes a variety of projects, including bridges, tunnels, rail, and miscellaneous steel and concrete structures. Coordinate efforts between disciplines and work closely with the Project Team Lead or Project Manager. Liaise with other disciplines in report and proposal preparation. Working knowledge of structural analysis programs and using these to deliver bridge and other transport structures Working knowledge of 3D modelling tools to deliver projects in the Digital Engineering Framework Assisting in the preparation of specifications and other documentation under supervision. Review the work of drafters and others who assist in specific assignments. Develop appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload Carry out cross-discipline reviews, constructability checks, and clash detection reviews. Keeps abreast of new developments and methods relevant to area of expertise Adheres to prescribed Design Standards and Design Quality Procedures. Conscientiously work toward the group's objectives and adhere to the company's policy. Perform tasks assigned by Discipline Lead and Regional Team Executive in line with his experience, discipline or qualifications. Qualifications (minimum and desirable): Bachelor&aposs Degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering, or any equivalent experience Licensed Civil Engineer Experience, Capabilities & Competencies: 4-7 years relevant work experience. Structural design experience for bridges, ground support, tunnel linings, and/or retaining walls. Knowledge in using software for structural analysis e.g. MIDAS Civil, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design (ASBD), STAAD, SPACE GASS or similar software packages e.g. Microstran, CSI Bridge Proficiency in Projectwise Blue Beam Revu, AutoCAD/Microstation/Revit, MS Word and MS Excel is also expected. Knowledge of relevant industry related Australian Standards, local authority standards and other international standards. Understanding of related safety in design practices and processes on projects Preferably with experience on Australian projects Good both written and verbal communication skills.
