Is responsible for supporting preconstruction, construction, and post construction activities as well as maintaining relationships with clients, client representatives and consultants.Must-have Skills / Qualification:
  • At least 15 years of technical experience in horizontal and vertical construction, especially on project execution, with the last 5 years in an executive role in Operations
  • Project management skills - Expert
  • Knowledge of environment, health and safety standards and procedures - Expert
  • Knowledge of and skills in MS Office - Basic
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System (an advantage)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills - Expert

Duties and Responsibilities:Development of the Operations Department
  • Has overall responsibility for project execution, ensuring that projects are delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality, and safety.
  • Manages the field operations staff, including direct supervision of construction, and establishes, implements, and enforces strategic goals, standard operating procedures, risk management objectives, and construction best practices for field operations.
  • Administrates all operations activities of the company from pre-construction planning, execution, procurement, construction, and project close-out.
  • Assists Business Development in expanding current work scope and geography; supports communications and presentations to clients.
  • Supervises the development of budgets and schedules, manages performance, reports progress, and initiates action to ensure project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications.
  • Resolves problems and coordinates the final turnover of the project to the customer; provides leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team.
  • Establishes and manages construction and client expectations.
  • Establishes measurement tools to maintain construction excellence.
  • Ensures and promotes “Best Practice Operating Procedures” to limit legal and financial exposure.
  • Adheres to company safety standards and promotes a safe working environment.
Construction PhasesBefore
  • Works with operations executives to determine company needs and define a strategic plan for growth.
  • Provides high-level business development and proposal support in conceptual estimating.
  • Provides due diligence reporting of at-risk projects.
During
  • Manages the projects under assigned area to ensure they generate revenue and contribute to the company's operating profit by following best practices and controlling costs.
  • Establishes an appropriate, integrated organizational structure; defines and communicates roles, responsibilities, and authorities to ensure safe, on-budget, and on-time completion of projects.
  • Ensures that project milestones are on target and within budgeted cost.
  • Monitors manpower cost, clients, and designers/consultants regarding plans and specifications.
  • Monitors performance of subcontractors, trade contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and contract terms.
  • Enforces health and safety requirements at all times.
  • Conducts regular meetings with Project Managers.
  • Coaches and leads a team of Project Managers toward effective collaboration and attainment of goals.
  • Conducts random audits of projects to ensure compliance with process steps.
  • Reviews project progress and performance, identifies deviations from schedules and costs early, and implements corrective actions; provides practical solutions to operations concerns.
  • Establishes good relations with clients.
  • Ensures documentation and implementation of variation orders in accordance with contracts.
  • Documents agreements and claims routinely; ensures all client communications are properly documented.
