The PositionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal System Engineer to partner with IT Streaming and Virtual Events team members and meet with the client community to assist with the delivery and implementation of underlying technology solutions in support of business objectives to improve productivity and enhance processes.   • Process requests and coordinate all details (e.g., Run of Show, cues, scheduling) with customer and stakeholders.
  • Operate furnished in-room equipment, or transport equipment (e.g., loudspeakers, microphones, audio console, camera, display, presentation remote) from storage and setup in target event location.
  • Fully test equipment and execute event, adjusting microphone, audio, video, and display settings as necessary.
  • Video streaming operation: Intake video/audio feeds from various locations, mix and produce event in soft encoder, and ensure successful streaming delivery according to customer requirements and standard operational playbook.
  • Consulting and Analysis: Meet regularly with IT colleagues and stakeholders to understand and help define requirements for implementing possible solutions or improvements.
  • Skilled in supporting stakeholder engagement activities across global virtual platforms and local hybrid environments-driving collaboration, innovation, and successful event execution.
  • Client Support: Perform baseline system support, administrative and maintenance duties for assigned systems. Troubleshoot application and system problems and take corrective actions.
  • Project/Solution Activities: Support goals by participating on project teams. Deliver on assigned tasks and action items.
  • Technical Focus: Utilize knowledge of applications/systems and underlying architecture in assigned area of responsibility. Develops and maintains awareness of IT process best practices, technology trends and emerging technologies.
  • Documentation: Produce documentation as required in support of baseline and project activities
Requirements:
  • Moderate level of technical understanding and demonstrated knowledge for their area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of project management and experience working on project teams required.
  • Moderate knowledge of and experience with life cycle methodology required.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years' experience; or bachelor's degree in computer science, or related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of experience; or a Master degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, with minimum 1 year of experience; or relevant Business or IT experience of minimum of 4 years.
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities:
  • Ability to process event requests and coordinate all details (e.g., Run of Show, cues, scheduling) with customer and stakeholders.
  • Experience with vMix, OBS, or other streaming software encoders.
  • Support global cross-functional coordination, fostering innovation, and adapting to dynamic event environments.
  • Able to work hand-in-hand with audio-video vendors to deliver seamless hybrid event experiences-even in complex or offsite setups.
  • Experience with video streaming production workflows.
  • Experience with event production (e.g., operating loudspeakers, microphones, audio console, cameras, and displays).
  • Experience with engineering a podcast.
  • Familiarity with virtual venues, video-on-demand hosting platforms, streaming delivery platforms, and basic audio/video editing.
