OPTIMIZE CPA Job title: Accountant Reports to: Director, Optimize CPA Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM 5 PM MST (Mountain Standard Time) Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely working papers for audit and review engagements; Prepare financial statements in compliance with the appropriate reporting framework; Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, compilation engagements and tax returns according to Canadian and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of business; Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results; Responsible for the completion of tax engagements by computing taxes owed, preparing trust, personal, and corporate tax returns (and other compliance slips), preparing year-end tax forms (T4s/T5s), recommending tax strategies for clients; Assist with tax audits and tax returns; Prepare projections, forecasts, business plans, and other projects as required; Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures; Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes; Completion of additional ad-hoc duties or assignments as required; Qualifications A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) 13 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation Familiarity with Canadian tax laws and CRA regulations Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, CaseWare, TaxCycle) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently About OPTIMIZE CPA Optimize CPA is a professional accounting firm based in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada, dedicated to providing personalized and strategic financial services to individuals and businesses.
