We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to take full ownership of daily accounting operations for this high-volume contractor business. This is a hands-on accounting role that requires precise transaction management, job-level cost allocation, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-job environment and has strong experience in both QuickBooks Online and Excel.Benefits and Compensation:

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or similar job-costing environmentsProficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (including pivot tables, allocation models, and formulas)Familiarity with outsourced payroll providers such as BBSIExcellent time management, organization, and attention to detailStrong communication skills and ability to work independentlyProven experience improving or automating financial workflowsPreferred Experience:CPA or CMA certificationExperience in home repair, remodeling, or specialty contractor servicesMulti-entity or multi-region accounting experienceUnderstanding of GAAP and tax compliance regulationsKey ResponsibilitiesDaily Accounting & Job CostingRecord and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks OnlineAllocate job-level costs accurately (labor, materials, overhead, regional expenses)Maintain and reconcile general ledger accountsManage vendor payments, invoices, journal entries, and receiptsMonitor accounts payable and receivablePayroll & Expense AllocationsReview BBSI payroll reports and ensure job/regional allocations are accurateTrack and reallocate daily and monthly expenses based on allocation methodsMaintain alignment between payroll data and cost centersReporting & Month-End CloseDeliver weekly profitability reports for internal stakeholdersProduce timely monthly financial statements and management reportsLead month-end and annual close processesCoordinate with external auditors and provide required financial documentationEnsure compliance with GAAP and tax regulationsProcess Improvement & Workflow OptimizationIdentify manual processes that can be automated or improvedCollaborate with leadership to streamline workflows and reduce repetitive tasksSupport documentation and implementation of new financial proceduresIf you're a self-driven accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-based environment and enjoys working with numbers, processes, and operational detail—this is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact in a growing business.Powered by JazzHR
