- Accurately assign and review medical codes for retina specialty services.
- Utilize Athena software for billing, coding, and claims management.
- Apply correct modifiers and ensure proper procedure coding based on documentation.
- Manage claim submissions, follow-ups, and resolve denials or rejections efficiently.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer requirements, and compliance standards.
- Assist with audits and reporting as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical billing and coding.
- Retina specialty billing/coding experience.
- Proficiency in Athena software.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, including modifier usage.
- Proven experience in denial management and resolution.
- Clinical background/experience is a plus.
- Certification (CPC, CCA, CCS, or equivalent)
- Amenable to work during U.S. business working hours.
