We are currently hiring a Staff Accountant with 2-5 years of experience in property accounting to support a U.S.-based real estate investment and development company. This role involves full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of real estate assets and development projects and offers a chance to grow within a high-performing team. MIT - Most Important Thing You will be responsible for executing the day-to-day transactional and reporting activities for a portfolio of real estate properties and supporting development project accounting. You'll ensure clean and accurate financials, take ownership of month-end closes, and collaborate with other team members to deliver timely reports. Experience with Yardi and real estate accounting is critical. Responsibilities: Real Estate Property Accounting Perform full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of 20 U.S. properties, including multifamily, self-storage, and retail (with a heavier emphasis on property-side accounting). Prepare and review financial statements, including monthly balance sheets and income statements. Handle accounts payable, process vendor payments, and manage related expenses. Maintain and reconcile bank accounts and credit cards. Ensure balance sheet accuracy and assist in balance sheet clean-up projects. Collaborate with third-party property managers handling day-to-day for multifamily and self-storage assets. Construction & Development Accounting (Nice to Have) Support ongoing real estate development projects (2-5 projects at a time, ranging from $5M to $200M+). Assist in building and maintaining job cost models and managing construction draw requests with lenders. Track expenses and project costs across multiple entities. Entity-Level and Investor Reporting Handle entity-level financial tasks, including financial reporting and consolidations. Provide timely financial data and reports for investor use and year-end tax preparation (no direct tax filing). Assist in offshore accounting coordination and utilizing Gantt charts for workflow visibility. Other Responsibilities Process payroll-related journal entries. Track and maintain intercompany activity and perform reconciliations. Use Yardi daily to enter and manage accounting transactions. Communicate effectively with U.S.-based stakeholders via email and video calls. Align with a culture of ownership, accountability, and proactive communication. Must-Have Qualifications 2-5 years of hands-on property accounting experience. Full-cycle accounting skills (e.g., journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close). Experience preparing financial reports and reviewing trial balances. Proficiency in Yardi . Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written). Bachelor&aposs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Ability to work in a full EST 9 am to 5 pm Schedule. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with construction or development accounting . Exposure to SAP Business One , Microsoft Excel, or Gantt chart tools. Familiarity with job costing, real estate structures, or investor reporting.
