Our client, a fast-paced Australian digital agency, is seeking an experienced Web Designer who can manage complete website builds from start to finish — independently.This is a true hybrid role: 50% visual design, 50% front-end development. You'll take briefs through concept, build, and launch for SMB clients across diverse industries, with no separate developer support.The Right FitYou're a versatile builder who owns the full design-to-development process. You make intentional design choices (and can articulate why), prioritise user experience and conversion, and deliver pixel-perfect, functional websites on tight timelines. You communicate proactively with the creative lead, adapt quickly to feedback, and take pride in sites that look great and perform.Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Website Delivery
  • Manage complete website projects independently: brief → concept mockup → build → launch
  • Design and build responsive websites in Duda (primary), WordPress, and Shopify
  • Create intuitive, conversion-focused UX with strategic call-to-action placement
  • Customise themes/layouts to align precisely with each client's brand identity
Maintenance & Collaboration
  • Handle 1–3 new website builds per week (volume depends on sales pipeline)
  • Maintain existing client sites: update photos, blogs, content, and minor enhancements
  • Build landing pages as directed by the Google Ads team
  • Apply basic on-page SEO setup at every launch (speed, metadata, structure)
  • Submit all work for internal review before client-facing delivery
Quality & Craft
  • Ensure polished visual execution: attention to typography, spacing, imagery, and brand consistency
  • Test responsiveness, load speed, and functionality across devices pre-launch
  • Maintain organised, well-labelled project files and documentation
Requirements
  • 3+ years building websites independently (agency or freelance background preferred)
  • Hands-on Duda experience — non-negotiable hard requirement (closest alternative: Squarespace)
  • Proficiency in WordPress and Shopify (e-commerce setup experience strongly preferred)
  • Portfolio demonstrating versatility across industries, with mix of service-based and e-commerce sites
  • Strong visual design sensibility + front-end development capability (50/50 split)
  • Self-sufficient within the CMS platforms. (CMS-based workflow).
  • Ability to implement basic SEO setup at launch (speed, metadata, structure)
  • Clear, professional English communication — written and verbal
  • Self-sufficient executor: owns full project lifecycle without hand-holding
Portfolio Must-Haves
  • Examples across multiple industries (versatility is essential)
  • Mix of e-commerce and service-based websites
  • Clear demonstration of strong CTAs, user engagement design, and conversion focus
  • Personally built and launched sites preferred — show your design and development capability
Systems & ToolsNon-Negotiable: Duda (hands-on platform experience required)
Also Required: WordPress, Shopify
Design/Dev: Figma/Adobe XD (for mockups), basic HTML/CSS/JS
