We Could Use Someone Like You in Our Crew. The Director of Data & Development is a leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and delivering innovative solutions. This role in our Information Technology department requires a leader with a proven track record of success in highly technical environments and an eagerness to engage in strong collaboration with team members and other departments across the business. Striving to always put data at the forefront of how we manage internal and client operations, and with the understanding that custom solutions are in constant need as no two clients are ever the same, this position will play a crucial role in continuing our technological evolution. With a strong focus on developing data and development practices that enable us to take advantage of the latest in technology, particularly where artificial intelligence is concerned, you'll have the opportunity to work to push the boundaries of what's possible and challenge norms on every given day. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, build, and manage a team of data personnel, including analysts, engineers, and scientists as well as full-stack developers, engineers, and architects. Define and execute the strategic roadmap for data analytics, business intelligence, and system development, aligning with overall business objectives. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure data platforms, analytical tools, and enterprise-level development solutions. Establish and enforce best practices for software development, data governance, data quality, and system architecture. Collaborate with product, operations, and executive management teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutions. Drive innovation by identifying and evaluating new technologies and methodologies to enhance data capabilities and application performance. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of initiatives. Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders across the company, adapting communication style to different audiences. Requirements Minimum of 10 years experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing data and application development teams. Significant experience with LLMs, machine learning, agentic AI, conversational AI, and the application thereof. Significant experience building and refining data and large language models to enable us to build solutions that include artificial intelligence. Proven experience in architecting and delivering complex data solutions and software development in a high-growth environment. Deep expertise in data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and modern analytic tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, Thoughtspot, Tableau, Power BI). Strong understanding of full-stack development principles, software architecture patterns, and agile methodologies. Hands-on experience with SQL and proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript). Experience with various transactional systems such as Salesforce, Hubspot, Sage Intacct, Workday, etc. Share and work in accordance with our values. Must be able to work in alignment with America's time zones. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Strong sense of personal accountability and the ability to work independently. Ability to communicate expertly with and influence clients, colleagues, direct reports, and cross-functional stakeholders while working collaboratively. High EQ and a sense of humor are required.
