You will ensure the accurate and timely recording of general ledger (GL) data, accounts payable (AP) processing and month end reporting. You will have the opportunity to participate in a number of exciting projects within a small and supportive team environment, led by finance leaders who are passionate about training and mentoring.A great attitude and ability to be results focused will ensure your success in this role.Responsibilities:
- Trust accounting tasks
- Work with other team members to ensure that all relevant broker related issues are resolved in an efficient and effective manner
- Ensure all accounts related queries are responded to in an appropriate manner; strong customer service ethic
- Accounts payable and expense processing
- Bank reconciliations
- End of month (EOM) journals and reporting
- Accruals/prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Ad hoc projects
- Degree qualified - accounting or business degree
- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant/Accounting assistant; basic accounting standard knowledge
- Experience in a customer service environment, delivering exceptional customer service
- Good technology skills, including MS Excel and Word
- Self-motivated and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Great attention to detail and the ability to be proactive
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience with Xero and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience from insurance industry highly regarded
