Carbon Documentation Compliance Consultant (Verra VCS Experience Required) About Us Project Caraga aims to generate premium carbon credits through Nature-based Solutions (NbS), delivering environmental and socio-economic benefits. The project focuses on reducing GHG emissions through Avoided Unplanned Deforestation (AUDef) and Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR). We are seeking an experienced consultant to support documentation review and internal QA prior to submission to Verra-accredited VVBs. Duration / Engagement Type 8-10-month contract (Remote or Hybrid) Objective To review and assess the adequacy of our current document control and management system in meeting the validation and verification requirements under the Verra VCS/CCB Standards, and to recommend improvements to ensure audit readiness. Key Responsibilities Review project documentation for compliance with Verra VCS/CCB Standards. Map required documentation against the PDD, monitoring reports, and audit trail expectations under Verra. Identify compliance gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in version control, document traceability, and evidence management. Provide pre-verification checks on monitoring reports, GHG baseline justifications, leakage analyses, and additionality demonstrations. Support the internal team in refining supporting evidence and narratives for validation or verification. Provide guidance on Verra registry submissions and engagement with VVBs. Coordinate with internal process owners, as needed, to verify document ownership and supporting evidence across project components (e.g., baseline, leakage, benefit sharing, FPIC, monitoring indicators). Recommend file structures, naming protocols, metadata standards, and archiving practices to meet validator expectations. Support the development of a compliance checklist or document matrix aligned with relevant Verra modules and third-party audit processes. Qualifications Prior experience working with or for a Verra-accredited Validation/Verification Body (VVB). Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience with Verra audits (e.g., with a VVB or carbon project developer). Strong understanding of VCS/CCB methodologies and documentation requirements, including evidence standards and audit preparedness. Solid technical background in carbon accounting, MRV frameworks, and audit documentation. Experience with ISO-compliant document control systems is an advantage. Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate compliance frameworks into actionable processes. Proven ability to work independently and provide clear, structured feedback.
