About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and professional Business Development Representative (BDR) to support a Canadian mortgage brokerage. This is a client-facing sales support role focused on outreach, appointment setting, and brokerage recruitment.The successful candidate will be responsible for contacting mortgage brokers and agents from competitor firms, introducing our client’s brokerage, and booking them into meetings with the CEO. Over time, this role will expand to include delivering introductory presentations and managing the early stages of recruitment conversations.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct outbound calls to mortgage brokers and agents across Canada, introducing the brokerage and booking meetings into the CEO’s calendar.Manage and maintain a CRM database of ~6,000 existing contacts, ensuring accurate records of outreach and follow-ups.Build prospect lists by researching competitor websites and adding new contacts to the database.Coordinate with the CEO to ensure an efficient flow of qualified meetings, with the ability to step in and deliver presentations when the CEO’s calendar is full.Follow structured sales scripts and objection-handling frameworks to maximize conversion.Work across platforms including Monday.com, RingCentral, Zoom, and Google Suite to manage daily tasks.Collaborate closely with the client to refine messaging, improve outreach strategies, and support recruitment targets.Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and communication when representing the brokerage in Canada.RequirementsSkills & Experience RequiredMinimum 2+ years’ experience in appointment setting, lead generation, sales, or business development (mortgage/financial services experience preferred but not required).Proven ability to engage decision-makers by phone and convert outreach into qualified appointments.Strong spoken and written English skills, with a confident, professional, and articulate phone manner.Tech-savvy, with experience using CRMs and business tools such as Monday.com, RingCentral, Zoom, and Google Suite.Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage prospect lists effectively.Presentable and professional demeanor—comfortable in video calls and virtual presentations.Self-motivated, driven, and eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced brokerage environment.Preferred AttributesPrior experience in financial services, mortgages, or real estate.Familiarity with North American business culture.Ability to work independently while being supported within a professional office environment.Comfortable with both structured scripts and adapting conversations in real time.
