
Program Officer for Institutional Relations

- Spearheads the development and implementation of the Marketing and Communications Plan including strategies, goals and budgets, for internal and external stakeholders as well as potential supporters and volunteers with the objective of raising awareness and funds for Pathways;
- Develops media relations strategy, seeking high engagement and visibility placements in print, broadcast, and online media;
- Manages inquiries and all public relations activities
- Pitches stories to the media, prepare media kits, prepares press releases;
- Responds to basic queries about Pathways and its programs like questions related to donations and ways to volunteer (e.g. via emial, FB, etc.); also refers more detailed queries to the proper Pathways officer/s;
- Creates content for press releases, byline articles and presentations;
- Organizes multi-stakeholder gatherings such as but not limited to: Education Partner’s Luncheon, Coordinators’ Conventions, Thanksgiving lunches and dinners, other assemblies;
- Manages Pathways’ social media / online presence (FB, Twitter, website, etc.)
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis;
- Evaluates opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an on-going basis;
- Coordinates and manages organizational efforts related to documentation of activities (e.g. photos for activities, short description of activities, newsletters, articles by UCPRO)
- Spearhead and manage fund raising activities for Pathways
- Support (20%)
- Assists the Director in making presentations to potential and existing donors
- Assists the Director and Program Officer for all matters pertaining to school and scholarship application.
- Represents the Director in all official functions when s/he and the SPO for Operations are indisposed and performs any other such duties as required by the position.
- As part of the Organizational Support Team and Pathways Team, supports the team and other POs by (15%):
- Conducting home visits and student interviews.
- Acting as administrative and logistical support during activities and interventions like General Assembly, Family Consultations, etc.
- Providing discerning and constructive inputs during team member’s performance appraisal/review conduct.
- Acting as documenter or presider/facilitator during Team meetings.
- Submitting timely progress reports, program updates, and other relevant documentation.
- Acting as one of the panelists during HR Panel Interview of applicants.
- Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.
- Preferably with relevant marketing experience either in the corporate or NGO sector
- Creative, dynamic and innovative
- Must have working knowledge of graphic and publication tools such as Adobe Photoshop, PageMaker and MS Publisher or equivalent tools and programs
- Must be knowledgeable in website development and updating
- Must be skilled in documentation (photo, video, written, etc) and promotion of activities using different media
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, during weekends and even holidays (when necessary)
