Under the supervision of the Head of the Internationalization at Home (IZN@Home) Section, the International Events Officer is instrumental in planning, coordinating, and executing events and activities that promote cross-cultural understanding, diversity, and internationalization within our campus community. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for global perspectives and the ability to create engaging and inclusive experiences for students, faculty, and staff.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning and Execution:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for internationalization events, aligning with the UPI’s mandates and the University’s mission and identity.
  • Identify key themes and objectives for events that promote cultural awareness and global engagement.
  • Plan and execute a variety of internationalization events, including workshops, cultural fairs, lectures, and partner visits.
  • Collaborate with Schools, Departments, student organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure successful event logistics.
  • Develop marketing materials and strategies to promote internationalization events to the campus community.
  • Utilize various channels, including social media, newsletters, and campus announcements, to reach a diverse audience.
Program Development:
  • Assist in the creation of engaging programs and activities that celebrate cultural diversity and foster a sense of belonging and inclusion among international and domestic students.
  • Assist in event budget implementation, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively and efficiently to optimize program impact.
Data Collection and Reporting
  • Collect feedback and assess the impact of internationalization events through surveys and other evaluation methods.
  • Maintain accurate records of event attendance, expenditures, and outcomes.
Reporting
  • Prepare reports on the effectiveness of internationalization events, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to enhance future event planning.
Perform other university- related duties as may be required by the AVP-UPI.Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in any field; specialization in International Relations, Cultural Studies, Event Management, a bonus.
  • Demonstrated experience in event or project planning and execution.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to design innovative programs and activities.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus.
