- Develops GHG accounting guidelines and protocols customized for the University context, in coordination with relevant University offices and stakeholders, encompassing data quantification, data management, validation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Trains relevant offices and personnel on data management and monitoring as needed to implement the GHG accounting guidelines and protocols;
- Calculates the University’s GHG emissions, identifies leverage points, and provides inputs to reduce the University’s carbon footprint; with the view towards carbon neutrality by 2030.
- Generates an annual report on the University’s GHG emissions and shares this with the University President, Vice President for Administration, the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, the Laudato Si’ Coordinator, and the Strategy and Quality Management Office.
- Collaborates with the Climate and Disaster Resilience Program of the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability to co-develop and implement the University’s Climate Action Plan.
- Serves as a resource person for GHG and climate-related stakeholder engagement activities, including holding meetings, consultations, and capacity building.
- Represent the University in GHG and carbon neutrality networks, events, and collaborations.
- Performs all other duties as may be reasonably required of the position, in accordance with the instructions of the Immediate Supervisor and its duly authorized representative.
- Graduate with at least a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Sustainability Management, Chemistry, Physics, Green Accounting, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, etc.);
- With at least 3 years of relevant experience
- With a background in climate change
- With database and data analysis skills
- With good interpersonal skills and open to engaging diverse stakeholders
- A critical thinker and problem-solver who is open to learning new skills
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or their equivalent, Google Suite of applications, video teleconferencing platforms, and data analysis software
