About The Job Fitout Designer About the role: The Fitout Designer is responsible for undertaking fitout deliverables (drawings, requisitions, reports, investigations, and trials) for the assigned project/tasks. The role is to ensure that the fitout deliverables meet the vessel specification, flag requirement (e.g. IMO High-Speed Craft Code/other), and the Classification Society requirements and are fit for their intended purpose. The deliverable needs to be undertaken as per the project schedule and budget requirements. This role requires good coordination and communication (written and verbal) with the design team (AP and AA/AV where applicable), production, and other external stakeholders (class/client/Supplier). Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to: Undertake 2D and 3D fitout drawings in AutoCAD and Plant 3D/SHIPCON Prepare requisitions and provide technical support to the Fitout Design Team and production. Coordinate with Production and SCM Essential Required Skills / Experience / Attributes: Bachelor&aposs degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture Has 2+ years relevant work experience in Aluminium or Steel shipbuilding projects. Good fitout design skills to meet vessel specifications & rules requirements. Strong technical skills and ability to problem-solve. Good knowledge of classification society/Flag rule requirement. Excellent competence of 2D/3D (AutoCAD) Excellent communication skills to coordinate with design, production and project teams in written and spoken English. Strong analytical skills to undertaken problem solving and experience with calculations and using excel.
