- Perform detailed structural design and load analysis for aluminum internal floating covers (IFCs), geodesic dome roofs, and flat covers using FEA and CAD tools.
- Ensure designs meet applicable industry codes such as API 650, ASCE 7, AWWA D108, and Ultrafloat's internal engineering standards.
- Prepare and review detailed fabrication drawings, BOMs, and structural calculations for customer approval and shop release.
- Project Execution
- Coordinate with project managers, fabrication teams, and installers to ensure successful execution of engineering deliverables.
- Conduct structural reviews and field assessments during installation or retrofit projects.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and engineering solutions for project-specific challenges or deviations.
- Client & Internal Collaboration
- Interface with customers, sales engineers, and operations to gather design requirements and address technical inquiries.
- Support proposal development through preliminary designs, technical input, and scope clarification.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to innovate on product improvements and support R&D initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis of aluminum storage tank covers or similar systems.
- Expertise in aluminum design, particularly bolted or extruded components.
- Strong knowledge of API 650, ASCE 7, AWWA D108, and other relevant aluminum construction codes.
- Proficiency in structural modeling software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, or ANSYS) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Familiarity with wind uplift design, seismic detailing, and vapor control requirements.
- Experience with international project codes, QA/QC documentation, and fabrication practices.
- Hands-on understanding of field installation processes and troubleshooting.
