Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and analyze surface water and storm drainage systems for DPWH roads, highways, flood control projects, and private developmentsPrepare drainage studies and hydraulic calculations, using InfoDrainage, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RASDevelop drainage layouts, profiles, cross-sections, and construction details using AutoCAD/Civil 3DUtilize GIS tools to analyze catchments, flood extents, topography, and drainage networksApply climate-resilient and flood mitigation design practices suitable for typhoon-prone areasPrepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for DPWH submissions and private client approvalsCoordinate with DPWH District and Regional Offices, LGUs, and other regulatory agenciesSupport environmental compliance (ECC, EIA/IEE inputs related to drainage and flood risk)Review contractor shop drawings and provide technical support during constructionConduct site inspections and resolve drainage-related construction issuesCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineersQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringPRC Licensed Civil Engineer – required4–7 years of relevant experience in drainage, flood control, or civil infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience on DPWH-funded projects and private developmentsTechnical SkillsProficiency in InfoDrainage for stormwater and drainage designExperience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial and hydrologic analysisWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3DFamiliarity with HEC-HMS, and HEC-RASStrong understanding of DPWH Drainage Design Guidelines, road drainage, culverts, channels, and flood control structuresKnowledge of Philippine rainfall data, design storms, and flood return periodsAbility to prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and drawingsSoft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication with government agencies, contractors, and private clientsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesHigh level of attention to detail and accountabilityWorking ConditionsOffice-based with site inspectionsExposure to both DPWH and private-sector project environmentsOccasional travel to regional project locationsAt Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
