Job Summary: The Planner - Commodity Specialist main responsibilities are primarily focused in scheduling and creating work order of materials based on customer commitments and material availability and schedule and administrative activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle. Obtains materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., Just in Time purchases, use of EOQ - Economic Order Quantities). Resolves discrepancies. Creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprisewide systems. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized. Monitors schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. Responsible for planning, buying, sourcing and expending materials, commodities from approved vendor lists both locally and overseas Work towards achieving given objectives such as inventory management, cost reduction, materials availability and quality management Works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Ability to read engineering drawings desired Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP software desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to read technical drawings. Knowledge of program management tools and procedures. General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality systems. Experience with Semiconductor manufacturing is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to use ERP estimating systems such as Visual, Vista, Oracle, etc. MS Excel, Word and Access. Good communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external customers. Attention to detail and exceptional organization and follow up skills. Educational/Certification Requirement : Degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain or equivalent work experience.
