We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Scientist to join our team in the Philippines, focused on developing and deploying Distributed Intelligence (DI) applications on Itron's DI platform. This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming the electric utility sector through edge computing, real-time analytics, and next-generation AMI 2.0 capabilities.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy DI applications on Itron's Riva-enabled endpoints and DI platform.
- Analyze high-resolution grid data from smart meters, sensors, and edge devices to identify patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with utility clients to define use cases such as fault detection, voltage optimization, load disaggregation, and predictive maintenance.
- Build machine learning models that run efficiently on distributed edge devices.
- Work closely with Itron's DI SDK and APIs to integrate custom algorithms and analytics.
- Validate and test DI applications in lab and field environments.
- Support utilities in scaling DI applications across their AMI networks.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and performance metrics.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, preferably in the energy or utilities sector.
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages for data analysis and machine learning.
- Experience with edge computing platforms, preferably Itron's DI platform or similar.
- Familiarity with AMI systems, smart meters, and utility operations.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, real-time analytics, and embedded software development.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
- Experience with Itron's DI SDK and application development lifecycle.
- Understanding of utility regulatory frameworks in the United States.
- Exposure to grid modernization initiatives, DER integration, or demand response programs.
