
Lead Technician, Development Product Engineering

- Perform hands-on assembly, modification, and rework of prototype ICs and evaluation boards.
- Execute complex test plans and characterization procedures on new products using various lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems, specialized test benches).
- Collect, organize, and present accurate test data to Product Engineers for analysis and decision-making.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining development and characterization test platforms.
- Conduct initial troubleshooting and debugging of test setups, hardware, and IC failures during the development phase.
- Identify and isolate issues related to product performance, test methodologies, or equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve technical challenges and improve test efficiency.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of test procedures, results, observations, and equipment calibration.
- Assist in drafting and updating test instructions, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
- Provide clear and concise verbal and written updates on project status and technical findings.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior technicians, providing guidance on test procedures, equipment operation, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist in training new team members on standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of lab processes, safety protocols, and equipment utilization.
- Ensure the proper functioning, calibration, and maintenance of lab equipment.
- Manage inventory of components, tools, and supplies required for development activities.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work effectively within cross-functional teams, including Design, Test, Quality, and Manufacturing, to support product development milestones.
- Communicate effectively with engineers to understand requirements and provide timely support.
- Operating and troubleshooting a wide range of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, function generators, spectrum analyzers).
- Strong understanding of basic electrical engineering principles, circuit diagrams, and component functions.
- Ability to perform fine-pitch soldering and rework on PCBs and IC packages.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and basic programming/scripting (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB) for test automation is a plus.
- Experience with semiconductor device physics or magnetic sensing technologies is an advantage.

- Education: Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field. Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience as a Technician in a semiconductor, electronics, or related high-tech product development environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a lead or mentoring role is highly desirable.
- Experience with IC testing, characterization, and troubleshooting is essential.
