Plant Controller The plant controller is responsible for leading the finance and accounting activities for our manufacturing facility. position is ultimately responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the accounting records and executing the financial close process within prescribed deadlines. Plant Controller frequently interacts with corporate and business unit leadership. This position will report directly to the AMS Global Controller with a dotted line to the Plant Manager. Primary Responsibilities Serves as the primary partner to Plant Manager to drive operational performance improvement, using data to assist in managerial oversight. Responsible for coordination with plant manager to develop the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts. Reviews manufacturing metrics including lean KPI's and weekly manufacturing variances (labor efficiencies, PPV, scrap) and provides insight to highlight risks and opportunities to plant manager. Prepares monthly/periodic reports to enhance management's understanding of the results. Analyzes spending reports & trends and prepares month end flash report and site operations review presentation. Responsible for site working capital and collaborating with the site materials manager on inventory improvement projects. reviews and approves inventory valuation reserves. Coordinates planning, performs validation, and tracks the cost reduction projects of the site. Maintains a strong level of compliance with internal controls. Acts as primariy contact for external auditors & ensures timely compliance to all the external audits & reporting requirements to the local government. Responsible for annual standard rates and cost setting process. Assist in preparing capital expenditure requests, including financial justifications when required. Completes projects/analysis as necessary. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong finance and accounting knowledge and skills. Knowledgeable about absorption cost accounting theory. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP knowledge strongly preferred. Oracle HFM experience helpful. Ability to think independently and make decisions in accordance with responsibilities. Strong analytical skills required in guiding management decision making process. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills across global time zones. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate financial information to financial and non-financial managers. Thorough understanding of local & US GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and accounting practices Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree with an Accounting / Finance major. Must have 7+ years accounting/finance experience. Experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred.
