- First call line support during HoV/NCI build. Provides Engineering assessment on issues stopping production during run of New product or program.
- Responsible to review, validate Design during workflow and after BOM release to correct any escapee that will impact manufacturing process continuity.
- Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
- Provides build readiness through MRL7 and apply all captured lessons learned for rebuilds and read across actions on future new products.
- Works to achieve day-to-day objective with moderate impact on work area.
- Works autonomously with limited supervision on higher, moderately complex projects or assignments
- Communicates effectively within and outside of own team to explain facts, policies and practices related to work area.
- Can influence decision makers with recommended course of action
- Problems are typically within a single area of responsibility and are typically solved through exercise of discretion and/or judgment, drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basic analysis
- Responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of work area
- Procedure writing to set standards.
- Ensure KPI’s / metrics of the team are met
- All other tasks that are deemed appropriate by Product Engineering Manager.
- Adheres to participate in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Knowledgeable in Manufacturing Assembly Processes, Process sheets, work instructions creation, or assembly manuals
- Multi skilled with other function within work area
- Knowledgeable in Engineering Tools: Proficient on the CORE analytical tools & techniques required for the job, Lean Application, QC Tools, FMEA and Teamcenter
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with modelled engineering data and configuration control through a PLM system.
- Understanding of materials & tolerances of components and assemblies.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Adheres to and participates in all EHS practices and standards across the site, including but not limited to proactive reporting of observed hazards and recommendations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self and others.
- Candidate must not be under Performance Improvement Plan (for internal hire)
- Have not been subjected to Disciplinary Action for 1 year (for internal hire)
- Have not been promoted or transferred for 1 year (for internal hire)
- Good teamwork & can work with minimum supervision
- Excellent Communication, English (both oral & written) and Presentation Skills
- Willing to render extended hours as needed.
- Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office & DWG related programs)
- Preferably with experience in Team Center software application
- Preferably experience or knowledge in PFMEA and design for assembly
- Preferably with GD&T certification or training
- Knowledge on 8D, DAISE and 3C is an advantage
