ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Operates both conventional and flatbed tow vehicles, including driving, towing, and backing trailers, using safety skills.
- Performs preventive equipment maintenance.
- Keeps and obtains all required records and documentation.
- Must be able to work alone, follow directions, and communicate appropriately with customers and fellow workers.
- Maintains self and equipment by keeping clean, neat, and orderly.
- Responds to all requests in a timely manner.
- Performs minor roadside repairs, flat tires, dead batteries, and vehicle malfunctions.
- Performs recovery of Commercial Lease Vehicle Branch CLVB and TMP assets as directed throughout the AOR.
- Performs evacuation of equipment to commercial and Government repair facilities, using commercial and military recovery vehicles.
- Performs on-site repair or recovery IAW technical manuals, commercial manuals, and safety and local policies.
- Perform duties as a mechanic and/or other duties/ tasks asked
- Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain a Philippines Driver's License is required.
- GCSS-A knowledge is highly desired; must be able to complete G-Trak within 30 days of CAC being issued
- Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Recovery Operator or Tow Truck Driver and one (1) year Vehicle Mechanic experience
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Heavy Driving License or CDL preferred.
- Skills:
- Military (Army) recovery operations training highly desired.
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather condition with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, humid, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
