Established in 1874, we have grown to become the world leader in mining and civil blasting with a diverse of team of more than 13,000 across the world.It's an exciting time to join us - we are shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies, embracing new ways of thinking, pioneering innovation and reimagining the way we work.About the roleThe Team Leader - QCT leads a team in the quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times, working closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site, Shotfirers and Site Supervisor and managing all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing blasts.What you will be doing
  • Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
  • Ensure compliance on Orica SHES requirements (e.g. events reporting, audits & inspections, Major Hazard Management)
  • Providing leadership and direction to the quarry site blast personnel.
  • Assisting with the training and mentoring of quarry site blast personnel.
  • Working in tight unison with all teammates to provide an excellence in service to our valued customers.
  • Ensure operational process meets Orica standards and customer's expectations.
  • Participate in the short, medium, and long-term planning activities of the site.
  • Assist in preparation of fixed cost budgets, capital expenditures, staffing, and equipment requirements.
  • Complete mandatory monthly inventory counts and reconciliations and safety meetings.
What you will bring
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or related field is required.
  • Has leadership experience in overall onsite operations - safety, training, operations, maintenance, and financial aspects.
  • Effective communication abilities across all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter with demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Has an experienced as a safety practitioner is considered advantageous.
