  • He/She is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Team assigned to him/her.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESThe FASHE Lead shall perform duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:Environment, Health, and Safety Program
  • Strategically plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs, procedures, and guidelines in the workplace in coordination with the FASHE Manager.
  • Actively participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating the company’s Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
  • Create and maintain the budget for occupational safety and health on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure the organization’s legal compliance to occupational safety and health standards imposed by the Department of Labor and Employment and other regulatory bodies
  • Research, study, evaluate, and implement existing and new safety standards in consonance with the government environmental standards, occupational safety and health, fire code, and its implementing rules and regulations in accordance with international and local safety standards
  • Represent the organization, and assist government regulatory bodies during OSH audits and inspections
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of mandatory OSH reports to DOLE within prescribed timelines, including but not limited to Accident/Illness Report and Annual Medical Report
  • Facilitate selection and appointment of OSH personnel as well as members of the Safety & Health Committee (SHC) on an annual basis
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with the Safety & Health Committee to discuss OSH updates in the workplace, and submit the Minutes of Meeting to DOLE
Workplace Safety (Facilities and Admin)
  • Ensure that workplace safety audits and evaluations to identify health and safety hazards is regularly performed, and recommend action plans to Management to promptly address the concerns
  • Oversee the FASHE Team’s scheduled and random roving activities within the workplace to ensure employees’ compliance with OSH policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Manage coordination with the company’s property management provider to maintain security, sanitation, and upkeep of all areas in the office which include but are not limited to pest control and waste management protocols
  • Align internal company rules on facilities management, safety, and health with those imposed by the property management provider, and vice versa
  • Ensure that all work permits including job hazard analysis are secured prior to the implementation of any renovation or maintenance project within the workplace
  • Manage coordination and procurement and purchase of health and safety supplies, such as medicines, first aid supplies, safety signages, and personal protective equipment; Maintain an updated inventory of these supplies and equipment
  • Manage coordination with external providers and internal company leaders for the schedule and logistics of random drug tests, wellness events, etc.
  • Recommend repairs, maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modification
  • Manage and oversee the monitoring of site and facilities inspection by ensuring that the facility is clean, organized, safe, and maintained based on the vendor’s service level agreement including but not limited to AC Units and Ventilation, Air Quality, HVAC, Generator Set, Water Supply, Plumbing, and Electrical systems.
  • Plan, propose, and execute projects to sustain facilities operations efficiency and reliability
  • Keep the office door’s access in order by managing the turnstile card/access badges issuance, activation, and reactivation
  • Ensure that issuance, checking, inspection, and management of locker assignments are organized by maintaining a tracker of occupied and unoccupied units and ensure that employee accountability forms are signed and recorded
  • Make certain that room and office reservations are managed well as scheduled
  • Lead investigation activities on accidents and incidents relevant to safety and health, always ensuring proper documentation and due process
Safety Advocacy
  • Advocate and drive a safety culture in the workplace by working closely with the HR and Learning teams to develop and roll out health and safety education and engagement activities
  • Regularly provide guidance and content for the release of education, information, and communication (EIC) materials on safety, health, and wellness
  • Coordinate with external partners and prepare the necessary logistics required in the conduct of educational seminars, webinars, training, and safety drills (e.g., fire, earthquake, etc.)
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
OSH Reporting, Documentation & Other Duties
  • Prepare and present internal OSH reports such as but not limited to risk assessment and business impact analysis and results, identification of risks to business continuity, and mitigating action plans and implementation
  • Maintain and review OSH templates, forms, checklists, documents, and other records
  • Review reports on accidents, violations of safety standards and requirements, and recommend penalties and sanctions against violators to HR for proper action
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Team and Performance Management
  • Drive high performance within the safety and health team by developing, implementing, and evaluating individual and team metrics against business objectives (such as but not limited to productivity, efficiency, quality, and timeliness metrics), and promptly execute interventions to bridge performance gaps
  • Develop individual and team capabilities through regular administrative and functional supervision, coaching, and mentoring
  • Provide learning opportunities to team members on OSH-related skills and competencies
  • Foster creativity and collaboration by providing opportunities for the team to plan and execute out-of-the-box and innovative OSH projects that meet business needs
Requirements
  • At least five (5) years of professional experience in occupational safety and health role, preferably as a safety officer in a corporate office or BPO setting, and one (1) year in a lead/management role.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Philippine labor laws and standards, particularly on occupational safety and health, and working conditions
  • Strong experience in planning, implementing, and managing OSH programs, policies, and procedures, such as but not limited to business continuity planning, disaster and emergency preparedness, crisis management, accident prevention, and infection control in the workplace
  • 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training (BOSH) at a DOLE-accredited training facility
  • Additional 48 hours of advanced specialized occupational safety and health training at a DOLE-accredited training facility (E.g., Loss Control Management, Training The Trainers, Safety Audit, OSH Programming, etc.
  • First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified by the Philippine Red Cross or accredited entities
  • Experience with ISO 45001, OSHAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 is a plus but not required
  • Technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC Systems
  • DOLE-Certified Safety and Health Practitioner is a plus but not required
  • Experience in formulating, executing, and managing the Workplace Covid-19 Response and disaster and emergency response protocol
  • Able to work in the office on shifting schedules, including graveyard schedules
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good project management and coordination skills
  • Above-average spoken and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, professional, with a sense of urgency and the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities
  • Must be able to work in any of our sites
