Bullpen Talent matches the most talented contractors with top U.S. companies and brands.Our client is an e-commerce business in the automotive parts industry looking for an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller to join their team as a remote contractor working 40 hours per week. This role will not need to work full U.S. hours, but will need to overlap for at least 4 hours each day for the U.S. Pacific Time morning (8am - Noon, Pacific Time - Seattle, WA)The Controller is a key leadership role within their organization, responsible the monthly close of books, regular financial reporting, running budget vs. plan and variance analysis with commentary, performing payroll (via ADP), and being responsible for payments to suppliers.This is a hands-on position, not one where there are a team of accountants to support you. Success in this position involves taking initiative and ownership over the financial operations and ensuring timely and accurate reporting and procedures are followed with minimal guidance.Software tools used by this company:
- NetSuite
- ADP
- Microsoft Suite (Teams, OneDrive, Office 365)
- Mercury Bank (Bill Pay, AR)THE REQUIREMENTS:To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience as a controller or senior accountant (7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role)
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification
Proficiency in the software tools mentioned above
Experience with e-commerce businesses and businesses that hold physical inventory (not software or tech)
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Ownership mentality and ability to think ahead on what's needed, rather than wait to be asked.
