Based in our Philippines office, you will provide primary support for OpenText’s operations in the Philippines, ensuring compliance with local regulations and promoting a culture of safety. - Serve as a key resource for OHS activities and compliance across Philippine operations.
- Support the implementation of safety programs aligned with DOLE regulations and OpenText’s global standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and regulators to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Promote a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns, coaching, and engagement.
- Assist with global and regional environmental programs as directed.
- Coordinate and support OHS training sessions, including onboarding and refresher courses.
- Track training completion and maintain accurate records.
- Support behavioral-based safety initiatives and monthly safety committee meetings.
- Assist in tracking and reporting OHS performance metrics, including incidents, near misses, and compliance indicators.
- Contribute to data analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Help prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Facilitate site inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety procedures and programs.
- Maintain OHS documentation and ensure alignment with local and international standards.
- Support audits and inspections by DOLE and other regulatory bodies.
- Assist in managing contractor safety programs and ensuring compliance with OpenText’s Operational Compliance Program.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a corporate or BPO environment.
- Required: Must meet the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) qualifications for Safety Officer 3 (SO3), including completion of the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training.
- Preferred: NEBOSH, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001/14001, and ISO 45001:2018 Implementation and Lead Auditor Training.
- Working knowledge of local and international OHS regulations, including ISO 45001:2018.
- Experience supporting the implementation of safety management systems and compliance programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools for reporting and training.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying safety improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute to cross-functional projects in a dynamic environment.
- Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
