- Payroll Processing and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing for assigned clients, including all payroll-impacting changes, tax forms, payments, and reporting.
- Conduct quality control and audits to maintain a low error/defect rate.
- Proactively manage quarterly and year-end audits, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
- Perform payroll adjustments, garnishments, and benefit deductions in compliance with legislative and company policies.
- For Canada-specific responsibilities (preferred experience):
- Perform monthly reconciliations of federal and provincial tax remittances.
- Validate and process Records of Employment (ROEs) in compliance with Service Canada requirements.
- Support payroll processing aligned with CRA legislation, provincial employment standards, and statutory deductions.
- Client Support and Issue Resolution
- Provide exceptional payroll support services in alignment with client contracts, SLAs, and regulatory obligations.
- Manage client cases within the case management system, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll issues and respond to employee inquiries promptly.
- Attend and lead client meetings, supporting discussions from a payroll perspective.
- Support Client Relationship Executives and internal partners with payroll-related requests.
- Continuous Improvement and Leadership
- Drive customer satisfaction through quality service delivery and proactive process improvements.
- Lead or participate in training sessions for peers and clients as needed.
- Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures, ensuring quarterly reviews are completed.
- Execute minor configuration updates and adhere to the established Change Control process.
- Collaboration and Partnership
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and external vendors.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all interactions, adapting communication style to audience needs.
- Contribute to a culture of learning, ownership, and teamwork within the Payroll Services organization.
- Minimum 3 years of U.S./CANADA payroll experience (multi-client, high-volume environment preferred).
- Preferred: Experience processing Canadian payroll, including CRA remittances, ROEs, and provincial regulations.
- Experience processing payroll for 2,000+ employees across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of quality control and audit standards in payroll operations.
- Working knowledge of Dayforce HCM or similar cloud-based payroll systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general PC literacy.
- Multinational payroll experience (U.S. and Canada strongly preferred).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills—verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Flexibility to support clients across time zones (hours of operation between 8 AM – 8 PM EST, with potential weekend or holiday coverage).
- PCP certification (or willingness to obtain within 18 months) preferred.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Experience in an outsourced or managed payroll environment is an asset.
