We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax assistant manager/manager to lead our tax due diligence reviews, oversee mergers and acquisitions (M&A) tax implications, and manage tax return preparation processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of Philippine tax laws, rules and regulations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Tax Due Diligence - Conduct thorough tax due diligence reviews for potential mergers and acquisitions. - Identify tax risks and opportunities associated with target companies. - Prepare comprehensive due diligence reports outlining findings and recommendations. 2. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate the tax implications of M&A transactions. - Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize transaction structures and minimize tax liabilities. - Support negotiation processes by providing tax-related insights and analyses. 3. Tax Return Preparation - Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate entities. - Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while optimizing tax positions. - Review and approve tax provisions and reports prepared by junior staff. 4. Research and Analysis - Stay updated on tax law changes and their impacts on the organization. - Conduct technical research to support tax planning strategies and decisions. - Develop and implement effective tax strategies to enhance the company's tax position. 5. Team Leadership and Development: - Mentor and train junior tax staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. - Manage workloads and ensure timely completion of tax projects. - Promote collaboration and communication within the tax department and across the organization. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - Certified public accountant - Minimum of 4 years of experience in Philippine tax compliance, tax due diligence, and M&A - Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, rules and regulations - Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts clearly (both written and verbal). - Proven leadership abilities and experience managing teams. Can work onsite and residing within Metro Manila or nearby provinces (e.g., Laguna, Cavite), have worked with the top 10 accounting/consultancy firm in the Philippines. Show more Show less
