- Monitor and maintain stock levels, ensuring items are ordered or restocked when necessary.
- Track inventory movements, including receiving, stocking, and dispatching goods.
- Perform regular stock counts (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Organize stock in designated storage areas to optimize space and ensure items are easy to locate.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect goods for quality or damage.
- Record new stock in the inventory management system, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Generate and process receipts and inventory logs.
- Ensure stock is replenished and properly rotated according to shelf life or demand.
- Report low stock levels to management or purchasing departments for restocking.
- Place orders for new inventory based on sales data and stock levels, if required.
- Input inventory data into computerized systems (e.g., inventory management software or spreadsheets).
- Maintain accurate records of stock, including details such as quantities, descriptions, and serial numbers.
- Prepare and maintain reports on stock levels, inventory movements, and discrepancies.
- Properly label, categorize, and organize inventory in warehouses, stockrooms, or other storage areas.
- Ensure that items are stored safely and according to company policies, including compliance with safety regulations.
- Use shelving, bins, and other systems to maximize storage space.
- Prepare orders for shipping or internal use, ensuring the correct items are selected and packed.
- Verify that products are packed securely for shipment and labeled accurately.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., sales, logistics) to ensure orders are processed and shipped on time.
- Conduct regular physical inventory audits to verify stock against records.
- Investigate discrepancies or missing items and report findings to management.
- Assist in periodic inventory reconciliations and audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Inspect inventory for damage, expiration, or defects and ensure that damaged or outdated items are removed from inventory.
- Work with suppliers or vendors to resolve any inventory quality or delivery issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols for handling inventory, including the proper use of equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory area to reduce the risk of accidents or damage.
