- Bachelor's degree in any STEM field is preferred but proven equivalent work experience will be gladly considered.
- Minimum 7 years of increasing responsibility, including at least 3 years in people leadership, in IT Operations and/or project roles.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a brief video self-introduction in English.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control, collaborative workflows).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Working knowledge of both Microsoft (Windows Server, Active Directory, M365) and Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and public cloud platforms (like AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Self-directed continuous learner who stays current with technology trends and pursues professional development independently.
- Relevant certifications are valued but not required.
- Manage IT staff including systems administrators, support personnel, and any future hires; conduct performance reviews, mentoring, and professional development planning.
- Establish and maintain IT operational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical incidents and complex technical decisions.
- Supervise the modernization of on-prem virtualization (Linux KVM), backups and business continuity capabilities and plans.
- Supervise cloud infrastructure use on Azure (experience with other major clouds instead is OK).
- Supervise converged network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless and IP-telephony.
- Maintain and enforce security policies, access controls, patch management, and compliance requirements in coordination with the CTO.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of all IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud environments, and end-user systems.
- Ensure service delivery: define and track SLAs, incident response, change management, and problem management processes.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement for IT services and equipment.
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are documented, tested, and current.
- Identify, prioritize, and manage improvement projects that reduce technical debt, increase automation, and improve reliability and security posture.
- Lead adoption of modern practices including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring-as-code, and documented-as-built configurations.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication for IT initiatives.
- Champion all IT Team principles, including documentation as part of the definition of done: ensure all systems, configurations, procedures, and project outcomes are thoroughly documented and kept current.
- Foster and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and self-directed learning among the team, leveraging AI and available training resources.
