Job Summary As a DRG-V trainer, your primary roles will be the onboarding and training of new analysts/auditors as well as internal quality reviews aimed at identifying areas of improvement and education that would benefit the auditing staff. Additional duties, such as responding to auditing support questions and providing continuous training and support to the auditing team, are also included in this role. You are expected to be up to date on the new rules by doing minimal production. Qualifications: 1.5 years in the DRGV auditor/analyst position 5 Years of total work experience in Medical Coding, with 3 years of DRG coding experience Current AHIMA credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS are required with additional Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) credentials such as, CDIP and/or CCDS preferred Must be an SME with up-to-date knowledge of IPPS, UHDDS, ICD-10CM, PCS. Experience in any EMR Systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech Effective communication skills, presentation skills, and proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint Bachelor's degree in any medical allied course Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Effective verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently and willing to adapt and change as per business/process requirements. Should be flexible to adapt to shift timings on a need basis A strong attention to detail and organization skills Ability to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and be service-oriented Responsibilities: Training & ramping new hires Coordinating new hire boot camp presentations Communication with new auditing staff and leadership EMR Navigation Training and Cloudmed Application Training Prescribed progress milestone review Weekly reporting to management Daily QA of all trainees' casework Updating of processes on need basis and contribution of learning materials as needed Quality Review Review a monthly sampling of accounts to identify opportunities for education and support to the auditing staff. Identification of trends for reporting to management and creation of reports for submission. Provide continuing education, training, guidance and support to maintain elite standards. Auditing Support Desk Researching, escalating, and responding to auditor support questions as triaged by leadership. Other duties as assigned by leadership (special projects, assessments, etc.) Review inpatient medical records for validation of DRG assignment.
