- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for interior design and fit-out projects.
- Conduct material and quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and other relevant tools.
- Interpret architectural drawings, design documentation, and specifications to determine project scope and cost requirements.
- Analyse labour, materials, and subcontractor costs to develop comprehensive pricing.
- Collaborate closely with designers and project teams to ensure estimates align with design intent and project objectives.
- Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative solutions to optimise project budgets.
- Maintain and update cost databases, pricing schedules, and supplier/subcontractor rates.
- Assist in preparing tender submissions, proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Review project variations and provide updated costings as required.
- Ensure all estimates are prepared in line with company processes and industry standards.
- Support project teams with cost-related queries throughout the project lifecycle.
- Other roles specific duties as they arise. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or a similar cost planning role.
- Strong experience using Bluebeam for takeoffs and document analysis.
- Background as a Quantity Surveyor or Structural Engineer, or equivalent experience in construction cost estimation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and pricing within the Australian market.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in cost estimation and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost efficiencies.
- Experience working with spreadsheets and estimating tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across design and delivery teams.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in interior design, commercial fit-outs, or high-end residential projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with local NSW building standards and supplier networks is desirable.
- Experience working with designers or design-led project environments.
- Exposure to value engineering and cost planning strategies.
