Role Overview This role sits within the Global IT Systems Operations, this team is responsible for the provision of monitoring capability / event detection and incident response capabilities. In addition to this, they are involved with the day to day processing of end of day trade batch runs and ensuring the systems are business ready prior to the start of business for each region. The team has relationships with 2nd line support teams within the Application Services teams as well as dealing with the Platform Teams i.e. Server Support, DBA, UNIX, Storage, Messaging. The team also works in collaboration with IT Operations Management and Global Service Desk. Role Responsibilities Perform daily application health checks and functional testing to ensure system integrity and availability. Run batch processing accurately and in a timely manner Monitor system events and incidents using enterprise monitoring tools; escalate and coordinate resolution as needed. Analyze check failure trends and provide recommendations for proactive improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application checkouts, and process improvements. Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles. Participate in on-call rotation and provide support cover as required. Assist in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews. Monitor and report on backups (VEEAM, CommVault) Monitor and process events/incidents using an in-house Eyes on Glass dashboard and other monitoring tools (CheckMK, AppDynamics) Reporting of Regional SOD Operations Status Report Escalate issues to L2 and collaborate with GSD and ITOM for Major (P1/P2) issues Fulfil any additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business. Support system administration tasks such as user account management, patching, and configuration changes (experience in this area is a plus). Essential Experience / Competences Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in IT operations, system monitoring, or a similar role. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CheckMK, AppDynamics, Grafana, Cloudwatch). Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) is a plus. Experience with Windows and/or Linux system administration is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
