The Role We're seeking an experienced Mid to Senior Java Developer to join our growing engineering team, building scalable enterprise applications that serve millions of users. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java development, cloud architecture, and enterprise-grade software solutions. Location: Must be in Colombia - Remote. Language: Advanced English (B2/C1+). Timezone: Monday to Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - Follows Colombian Holidays. Experience: 4-7 years of professional Java development experience. Requirements 4-7 years of professional Java development experience. Strong proficiency with Spring Boot framework and Spring ecosystem (Security, Data JPA, Cloud). Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, and IAM. Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture. Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL optimization. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles. Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Financial services industry experience (banking, payments, trading, or fintech). Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements (PCI DSS, SOX, etc.). Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack, DataDog). Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding standards. Experience with performance testing and optimization. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Responsibilities Design and develop high-performance, scalable Java applications using Spring Boot. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions. Implement and maintain microservices architecture on AWS cloud platform. Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following industry best practices. Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
