Senior Accountant Location: Clark, Cebu, Tarlac Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PHT Unlock your potential! Specific services to be provided to clients: Bookkeeping Bookkeeping and journal entries (Xero) Bank reconciliations General ledger maintenance Review of Tax Codes for GST registered clients Payroll assistance and processing (superannuation guarantee, PAYG withholding, single touch payroll, Xero payroll) Accounting Preparation of supporting workpapers (Excel) and journal entries as part of year-end accounts preparation (MYOB AE) for business and investment entities, to trial balance stage Preparation of annual financial statements (using MYOB AE) Preparation of monthly/quarterly management reporting Taxation + Compliance Preparation of activity statements (IAS + BAS) Preparation of income tax returns (all entities - including Companies + Trusts, rental property schedules, CGT) Preparation of minutes (e.g. Trust distributions, dividends) Annual Tax Planning, Projections + Superannuation Top-up Calculations Preparing projected trading results Preparing estimated income tax positions for client groups Looking at available superannuation contributions relative to the concessional contribution caps Identifying if any variation to the June PAYG instalment is recommended Consideration as to any dividends to be declared or Trust distribution %s Identifying any structuring or tax effective advice the client may benefit from Offshore team management: Delegation to junior accountants and bookkeeping team in respect of these services, including: Delegation of appropriate tasks and managing workflow Developing KPIs for team members Monitoring of delegated tasks to ensure productivity and efficiency Reviewing the work of team members before it is sent to the manager/partner Ongoing training, assistance, development and mentoring Creation of systems and procedures to ensure consistent approach to the completion of work Creation of team member onboarding procedures, including training materials Completion of ad hoc accounting tasks as an when required Assistance with the completion of advisory tasks Completion of daily timesheets Reporting to managers and partners About you . We are looking for an A-star individual, passionate and competent with what they do and bringing the WOW with the following qualifications: Bachelor&aposs degree in business (accounting) CPA or CA certification 3+ years of experience working in public practice Australian accounting firms in a similar role is required Must have had training and experience in the following specific compliance tasks: Preparation of supporting workpapers (and journal entries as part of year-end accounts preparation, to trial balance) Preparation of financial statements Preparation of income tax returns (including Individuals, Companies + Trusts) Technical Knowledge Requirements Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices Companies (division 7A, dividend policies, franking credits) Trusts (section 100A, family trust distributions) Individuals (division 293 assessments) Properties (advising on entity/individual to purchase in, rental property schedules) Understanding tax structures (companies, trusts, SMSFs etc.) Payroll (superannuation guarantee, PAYG withholding) Bookkeeping (Xero, bank rules) SMSF administration and superannuation rules are desirable, but not mandatory (ideal) Software Knowledge & Experience Microsoft Office Suite (Excel + Word) Previous experience with MYOB Accountants Enterprise is desirable, but not mandatory (ideal) Xero (including payroll) *Class (if SMSF experience, not mandatory) Professional Skills & Competencies Ability to work independently with limited supervision from management and as part of a team Leadership skills to lead a team and build mutual respect and trust within the team Organisational and time management skills Good analytical and problem-solving skills Continuous improvement mindset and the drive to enhance the end-to-end process Have the ability to analyse information and figures to formulate a solution/great problem solving skills Initiative and proactivity Confidentiality and keeping sensitive client information private Research skills to find the answers to technical questions for any knowledge gaps Personal Attributes & Qualities Professional manner and approach Good communication and interpersonal skills Confidence Positive approach to change Desire and willingness to learn and continually improve What you need to know .
